Fiji Academy was held January 5th – 7th this year in St. Louis.  John Perry attended for the first time with three of the new 2018 Cabinet members (Will Godley – President, Fred Edler – Treasurer, and Joe Kalas – Recording Secretary).

The meeting was productive and informative for all, including a pig dinner and mock initiation ceremony.  The Courageous Leadership program – the cornerstone of the National’s program – was presented and emphasized to all in attendance.  John Perry made numerous contacts with many FIJI brotherhood around the country and key contacts at FIJI National.

More About Fiji Academy

The Fiji Leadership Academy, conducted each year in early January, is designed to get new chapter officers off to a strong start by giving them the knowledge and skills they need to lead their chapter.  Participants are exposed to the basic elements of chapter operations as well as higher level leadership development.

The Archons (board of directors) attend, taking advantage of this opportunity to hear first-hand of the chapters’ successes and challenges. Frequently, brothers of national prominence will attend and address the attendees. The Academy also includes tracks for graduate volunteers who serve as Purple Legionnaire (chapter advisor) and Section Chief (regional volunteer officer).
